Roundtable: Evaluation of Environmental Protection and Climate Crisis Budgets of Local Governments

On November 3rd, 2022, “Roundtable: Evaluation of Environmental Protection and Climate Crisis Budgets of Local Governments” was organized at Istanbul Bilgi University Social Incubation Center in cooperation with TESEV, KAHİP and FES. The roundtable meeting, which was held with 22 participants consisting of representatives from relevant units of metropolitan and district municipalities, and non-governmental organizations, started with Transparent Budget Index Project Consultant Bircan Polat’s presentation about the Transparent Budget Index 2021 Results for Turkey. Then, KAHIP member Prof. Dr. Nurhan Yentürk presented their report “Monitoring Environmental Protection and Climate Change Budgets of Local Governments in 2022”. In the second part of the meeting, based on the previous presentations, roundtable participants discussed the policies of metropolitan and district municipalities in Istanbul on environmental protection and climate crisis.
