Fault Lines in Disaster Management: Risk Reduction and Response Preparedness in Mersin

The report prepared within the scope of Developing a Model for Data-Driven Disaster Governance in Municipalities Project carried out by TESEV with the support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands’ MATRA Fund, seeks to evaluate the disaster management efforts undertaken in Mersin. To this end, the report first examines the official disaster management approach and then reviews the existing plans and practices related to disaster management in Mersin while aiming to address disaster management not only as technical expertise but also as a democratic and pluralistic governance practice.
