The South Caucasus is a complex and conflict ridden region. Under the framework of this newly established field, the Foreign Policy Programme aims to develop comprehensive analysies of potential prospects and risks in the South Caucasus region and draw attention in Turkey to the matters that need attention in the short, medium and long term. In doing so, we aim to bring together the different constituent communities and enable greater civil society engagement in the South Caucasus to discuss the future of the region and build mutual understanding in the region through open and constructive dialogue.

The Middle East and North Africa is a volatile region that is charecterised by deep rooted challenges. Yet the events of 2010 and 2011 have profoundly reshaped the future of the region and bring hope that peace and democracy can flourish. This will be a complex process and thus the Foreign Policy Programme aim to assist the countries of the Middle East and North Africa in their democratic transitions and ensure peace and stability in the region. In this process, we aim to explore the constructive role of Turkey and advocate the importance of the civil society as well as the significance of promoting dialogue and cooperation between different parties. We initiate regional projects with the aim of understanding and evaluating the new dynamics in light of the regional developments.
